MYON is a smart foam roller designed to enhance muscle recovery through real-time pressure feedback and guided performance insights. Integrating sensor technology and LED feedback, MYON bridges the gap between professional physiotherapy and independent recovery, empowering athletes to roll safely, effectively, and with confidence.

Athletes often feel under-recovered after physiotherapy, lacking guidance when continuing rehab at home. Poor technique and inconsistent pressure can slow progress or cause re-injury. MYON responds to this gap, empowering users to roll correctly, confidently, and with feedback like a professional session.
“Recovery shouldn’t end when physio does, yet 4 out of 5 athletes indicate they still don’t feel fully recovered”
Surveys with AFL players and an interview with a physiotherapist revealed key barriers to effective recovery, cost, limited access to physiotherapy, and lack of feedback. Many athletes felt only “mostly recovered,” often returning to sport too early. Benchmarking showed professional tools are effective but expensive, while home equipment lacks adaptability. These insights informed the design of MYON, a smart, affordable, and portable foam roller that provides guided feedback to support consistent and confident recovery.
MYON combines smart pressure sensors, LED feedback, and ergonomic design to provide real-time recovery guidance. It teaches users to apply optimal pressure and tracks improvement over time, bringing professional insight into everyday recovery routines.
Through user research, prototyping, and testing with athletes, MYON evolved into a tool that blends intuitive usability with advanced feedback systems. The design process focused on accessibility, affordability, and performance.
MYON empowers athletes to take control of their recovery journey. It bridges the confidence gap between physiotherapy and independent training, promoting faster recovery, injury prevention, and long-term body awareness.
