CARBONEX – Reimagining Soil Carbon Sampling

Soil carbon sampling underpins carbon market participation and farm productivity but is difficult in rocky soils. Shallow or incomplete cores underestimate carbon levels. Despite this, regulations require reporting these samples, distorting carbon data and excluding producers. Improved, practical sampling tools are needed for accurate and affordable on-farm carbon measurement.

ideation

Carbonex is an advanced coring device designed to eliminate reliance on traditional augers and drill rigs for soil carbon sampling. Its innovative mechanism enhances sampling accuracy by penetrating rocky substrates while preventing rock fragments from entering or contaminating the core, ensuring more reliable and scientifically valid soil carbon measurements.
